General terms and conditions for the use of gift cards
Article 1 - Purpose
These general terms and conditions of use (the "General Terms and Conditions") govern the conditions of use of the Editions Adyar dematerialised gift cards issued and distributed by Editions Adyar (the "Card"), by any natural person holding a Card (the "Beneficiary") wishing to place an order on the https://www.editionsadyar.com website.
Article 2 - Purchase of the Card and acceptance of the General Terms and Conditions
The Card may only be purchased on the Website under the conditions described in these General Terms and Conditions.
The General Terms and Conditions are deemed to have been accepted by the Beneficiary at the time of purchase of the Card.
The Beneficiary has a right of withdrawal of 14 days from the date of purchase of the Gift Card.
Article 3 - Validity of the Card
The Card is valid for twelve (12) months from the date of activation.
The Card is activated at the time of purchase on the Website.
At the end of the period of validity, the Card may no longer be used. The remaining balance on the Card will then be lost. The Card will not be renewed or exchanged.
Article 4 - Use of the Card
The Card may only be used by a natural person of legal age.
The Card is not a credit card. It may be used as a means of payment, in one or more instalments, during its period of validity, solely to pay for an order placed on the Website and within the limit of its loading.
Up to two (2) Cards may be used for a single order.
If the balance on the Card is not sufficient to cover the amount of the order, the Beneficiary may top up by another means of payment.
To find out the balance on the Card, the Beneficiary may go to the Gift Card space on the Internet Site or contact Adyar Editions.
In the event of the return of all or part of the order paid for in full or in part with the Card, the refund will be made to the Card, which will automatically be re-credited with the amount of the item returned, up to the limit of the amount initially paid by this same means of payment. It is important that the Beneficiary keeps the dematerialised Card (received by email containing the Card number and validity date) during the withdrawal period. If the validity period of the Card has expired at the time of reimbursement, the latter will be made in the form of a purchase voucher valid for products sold and dispatched by Editions Adyar.
The Card may not be exchanged, transferred or resold, and may not give rise to any monetary consideration.
In the event of difficulty in using the Card (in particular if it does not work), the Beneficiary must contact Éditions Adyar.
The Beneficiary may not offer or receive a gift card to pay for products outside the Editions Adyar site.
The Beneficiary may not use a gift card if he is not the true recipient. The Beneficiary is the true recipient of a Gift Card when he/she receives it as a gift. He/she is not the true recipient if he/she deceived the purchaser into offering or selling him/her a Gift Card (even if he/she did so voluntarily at the time of the transfer).
The Beneficiary may not use a Gift Card to purchase another Gift Card.
Article 5 - Loss and theft of the Card
The Beneficiary is responsible for the Card purchased. Lost or stolen Cards may nevertheless be blocked, provided that the Card is still valid.
Sums already used before the Card is blocked cannot be reimbursed.
Article 6 - Complaints
The transactions recorded by Editions Adyar's computer systems constitute proof of the transactions actually carried out using the Card.
In the event of a dispute regarding the balance of the Card following its use, the Beneficiary may submit a claim to Editions Adyar.
Article 7 - Validity and modification of the General Terms and Conditions
The General Terms and Conditions apply from the time of purchase of the Card and are valid until the balance is used up or the expiry date of the Card.
Any amendments to the General Terms and Conditions will not be binding.
Article 8 - Applicable law
The General Terms and Conditions are subject to French law. The competent court in the event of a dispute will be that of the place of residence of Éditions Adyar.
